Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad worried over situation in Occupied Kashmir


Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia is worried over the ongoing advancements in Jammu and Kashmir (Occupied Kashmir) specifically the rehashed heightening of the strains in the locale, said an announcement issued by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed's office. 

It said Malaysian Prime Minister on Monday got a telephone call from Prime Minister Imran Khan during which his Pakistani partner advised him on the most recent circumstance in Jammu and Kashmir. 

"Prime Minister Imran Khan, among others, referred to the need to respect the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions related to Jammu and Kashmir," the announcement said. 

The announcement said Malaysia might want to urge all partners to comply with the applicable UNSC goals on Kashmir towards the upkeep of global harmony and security. 

"As a close partner to both India and Pakistan, Malaysia places high hopes that the two neighbors will exercise  utmost restraint to prevent further escalation that could be detrimental to the peace, stability and prosperity in the region," it said.

The announcement said Malaysia consistently accepts that exchanges and meetings are the best course to a quiet and friendly arrangement over this long standing issue.
