Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa extended for another 3 years by PM Imran Khan


Executive Imran Khan has endorsed an augmentation in the residency of Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa for an additional three years, a notice issued by the head's office said. 

"General Qamar Javed Bajwa is appointed Chief of Army Staff for another term of three years from the date of completion of current tenure," read the concise notice issued by the head administrator's office. 
It included that "The decision has been taken in view of the regional security environment." The notice was actually signed by Prime Minister Imran Khan. 

Gen Bajwa was designated as the head of armed force staff by previous leader Nawaz Sharif in November 2016.
