Washington: A shooter seized a US postal truck and opened fire aimlessly in the US province of Texas Saturday, shooting dead at any rate five individuals and injuring numerous others before kicking the bucket in a shootout with officials.
Police distinguished the suspect as a white man in his mid-30s, however couldn't yet name him or state why he did the assault in the West Texas urban communities of Midland and Odessa.
Coming not exactly a month after a shooter killed 22 individuals in the Texas city of El Paso, the most recent gore quickly touched off crisp calls for weapon control to stem the US scourge of mass shootings.
"We have at least 21 victims, 21 shooting victims and at least five deceased at this point in time," Odessa city Police Chief Michael Gerke told columnists.
